NEWHAM CO-OPERATIVE
Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless.
MEET OUR TEAM
The Newham GP Co-operative is a group of local GPs who have decided to join together to cover each other’s patients out of hours. The co-operative was established to improve patient care in Newham by using local GPs who have local knowledge and expertise. A major factor in the co-operative’s commitment to improving primary care has been the setting up of a fully equipped primary care centre. Patients will be expected to attend the centre where their problems will be dealt with by well-trained and well-motivated staff, in comfortable and well-lit surroundings, where back-up facilities are immediately available. In other words, in ideal conditions where emergency medicine of the highest standard can be practised promptly and efficiently.
Our helpful and experienced team stand ready to help and advise.

Our Mission
Our Values
Safeguarding
Safeguarding Adults Statement
Safeguarding means protecting an adult’s right to live in safety, free from abuse and neglect.
It is about people and organisations working together to prevent and stop both risks and experience of abuse or neglect, whilst at the same time ensuring the adult’s wellbeing is promoted.
Also, where appropriate, having regard to their views, wishes, feelings and beliefs in deciding on any action.
This must recognise that adults sometimes have complex interpersonal relationships and may be uncertain and have unclear or unrealistic views about their personal circumstances.
Safeguarding Children Statement
Newham GP Co-operative is committed to protecting Children and Vulnerable Adults and we will make their welfare our highest priority. Where additional support is necessary this will include working with other agencies. If you have any concerns about a child or vulnerable adult please speak to your GP or Practice Nurse, or raise your concerns with any member of the out of hours team.
QUALITY GOVERNANCE
Good medical leadership is key to promoting patient safety and to improving quality of care. Our organisational structure is clinically-led and we believe this in itself is a strong safeguard to ensure a culture that is focused on governance and quality. Our Board and Executive Team will have terms of reference outlining their remit and decision making responsibilities.
We believe that the defining feature of a sustainable and successful provider is having an organisational culture which allows an open and honest appreciation of risk.
